On Tuesday 18th August, The Rotary Club of Glenferrie (“RCG”) participated in annual Swinburne Employment Expo, to provide graduating students the opportunity to understand issues related to future employment; being a volunteer or part time or full time in work and to learn about volunteering in Rotary.
It also gave RCG the opportunities to present our Club and hear what students are looking for in the transition to employment.

The RCG participation was organised by the Youth and Vocation Director, Mark Howlett. The team of Geoff Widmer, Cheryl Pisterman, Teresa Liu, Ray Issacs, Don Moore and Paul Shekleton, were kept very busy and engaged with over 55 students making their way to our booth, to engage with our Rotary team.
We fielded a variety of questions about transition issues to employment and how RCG could assist them in this, the volunteer activities of the Club and how they can get involved in Rotary and its youth leadership programs such as RYLA. The Team was excited to have participated in this Expo, as it was an important activity to connect with our community over Youth issues and their needs.
