MUNA stands for Model United Nations Assembly, which simulates the workings of the UN Assembly by having teams of two senior students from each of a number of schools represent a particular UN country in debates on matters of world political and social concern.

At last year’s MUNA competition, Siena College entered a team who went on to win best costume (among 50 students).

One of the students Sophia found the experience life changing & says ‘it may be a small thing to us but that it has been a large thing for her!'.  It has also allowed her to apply and be accepted into a youth program run by the UN. The Aotearoa Leadership Tour.
The program run by UN Youth Australia, is named the Aotearoa Leadership Tour. It involves visiting Sydney but mainly travelling throughout NZ. In the 2 weeks of the tour, she will be involved in intense learning & sharing about the UN, governance, innovation, as well as first nations perspectives, culture & reconciliation.

Of course, Sophia will come and talk to us about her experiences when she comes back from her trip.
