The visit to the RIMERN warehouse was a great success with 23 Rotarians and four guests, including two potential new members, battling through peak hour traffic to arrive in east Brunswick at 6.00pm. We were welcomed with a glass of RIMERN wine and some beautifully tasty nibbles prepared by Maria Pantling.

Susie Cole, the Chair of RIMERN gave a lively presentation outlining the development of RIMERN and its substantial impact as a source of help for people emerging from hardship.

Ros McMaster, the Warehouse Manager, also spoke and presented information about the organisation of the warehouse, including the number of clients who have received all items required to set up a household. Susie and Ros provided further information during a brief guided tour.

Our group then moved to the Darebin RSL for a pleasant meal and conversation. After the meal Ros ran a successful raffle for a bottle of champagne which was won by Helena Wimpole. The great work of David Fallick and Geoff Widmer during the past two years on the RIMERN Committee of Management was warmly acknowledged.

Finally, we need to remind family and friends that donations of all household items are urgently needed as demand, particularly for white goods, has exceeded supply.
