The Rotary year continues at its usual furious pace. In October we have at our first meeting, a visit from District Governor, Michael Lapina. Michael is passionate about Rotary and is an entertaining speaker, this will no doubt be a highlight. This will be followed in November by the AGM and notices will be circulated shortly. November will of course be followed by our Christmas function which is again always a highlight.
Your committee has also taken a baby steps toward “future proofing" the Club by forming a committee to investigate other avenues of funding.
As all members are aware, the Farmers market has for many years been our main source of funding and we anticipate that this will be the case for many years to come. It must be recognized however that the market is under pressure from several areas including greater competition and mortgage stress, leaving a lot of people with less money to spend. We will be investigating whether there are other viable forms of fund raising which do not require massive engagement from the members. To this end we will be consulting the membership in the near future.
Have a great week in Rotary.
