Welcome all to my first bulletin of the Rotary year.

My year started a month before as President-elect. After a weekend with other presidents-elect in Bendigo we covered such topics as how to engage current club members and how do we grow membership, in particular younger members.

A month later I had a flurry of activity where the cluster presidents-elect went to each other’s Changeovers. I went to the Rotary Club of Kew, Hawthorn and Canterbury’s Changeovers. We, and a few other cluster clubs such as Rotary Camberwell and Balwyn, have formed a WhatsApp group and already there is collaboration happening.

Changeover was a great night. It was good to be able to introduce the Board to members. It is a strong Board with people with a lot of experience. I look forward to working with them to steer the club through strategies and projects successfully.

In my presentation I referred to Olayinka Hahiem Babalola, from Nigeria, who is the Rotary International President. His quote was especially relevant to our club and all Rotary clubs. It is “Rotary transforms lives – not only through the projects we deliver, but through the hope we share, the meaningful relationships we build, and the shared purpose we inspire”.

Midweek Lunches are back. These will be held on the third week of the month.

The first one will be held on Wednesday 15th July.
Time: 12.30pm to 2pm

Please let Geoff or Chris know by 4pm Monday if you are coming.
Hope to see you there!
