Dear Members,

This is my last bulletin message as President of the club. I genuinely want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your selfless and unwavering dedication in serving our club in various capacities. Your time, expertise, creativity, and engagement have been highly valued and respected by the entire club. I am also grateful for the fellowship, encouragement, and support extended to me as President of this great club.
“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future". - John F. Kennedy. We celebrated the past, but we now look to the future for a productive year of Creating Hope in the World. During the Changeover event last Tuesday, I handed over the Chain of Office to our President Elect, Mark Howlett, who will lead the club to further our service to the local and international community. We are looking forward to a successful year ahead under Mark’s leadership as he brings fresh ideas, excellent management skills, enthusiasm, and energy to the club.

As I conclude my tenure, I would like to share a profound insight from my favourite book, the I Ching or Classic of Changes, an ancient Chinese cosmological and divination text originated in Western Zhou period (1000–750 BC). True Rotary fellowship must be based on a concern that is universal. It is not the private interests of the individual Rotarian that create lasting fellowship, but rather the goals of humanity.

Service above Self'. Together, let us continue to uphold the Rotary spirit of service and make a positive impact on the world.

Teresa Liu
President 2022-2023
