The Rotary Club of Glenferrie has recognised the considerable contribution to Rotary of PP John Suriano, awarding him Honorary Membership of the club. PP John was inducted as an Honorary Member at the club meeting on July 11th by President Mark, following a unanimous vote by the club board.
John Suriano joined Rotary on February 23rd,1982, admitted to the Vocational Classification " Education and Training". He was President of the club for 1990-1991, when the RI Presidential Theme was "Honor Rotary with Faith and Enthusiasm". John has been a dedicated Rotarian all his Rotary life and has certainly "honored Rotary with faith and enthusiasm". He has held a number of club offices in addition to his club presidency, including Club Secretary, twice, Farmers Market Treasurer and Club Service Director. He was instrumental in running the coffee stall at the Hawthorn Craft Market at the Hawthorn Town Hall from 1986, eventually taking over the lead role from PP David Sutherland (the monthly Hawthorn Craft Market is still run by the Rotary Club of Camberwell). The coffee stall was the club's main fundraiser before the Boroondara Farmers Market started in 2003.

From the Rotary Club of Glenferrie, congratulations John for this well-deserved recognition for a lifelong commitment to service, to friendship, and to Rotary.
