Rotary District 9800 welcomed a new District Governor at the District Changeover luncheon at Hyatt Place, Essendon Fields on Saturday January 24th, and two new Assistant Governors, Glenferrie Rotarians PP Dr Mark Ellis AM (Heritage Cluster) and PP Charles Tran (Eastside Cluster). Outgoing DG Amanda Wendt, one of the youngest DGs in Rotary International. concluded a stellar year as District Governor, which included hosting the Rotary International Convention in Melbourne in May, by handing over the chain of office to incoming DG Ron Payne. Ron, a member of the Rotary Club of Eaglehawk, is a well-known and popular Rotarian who will build upon the momentum of recent years with an agenda of membership growth and engagement. Congratulations to DGE Ron Payne and a very big thank you to DG Amanda Wendt, for a year of achievement in which the focus of Rotary was directed firmly towards service, and the profile of Rotary was greatly enhanced.
