In a night that will be long remembered, significant club achievements over the past year were celebrated, a new President and an incoming board welcomed, and the contributions of some outstanding Rotarians recognised. PP Thelma Huchison was presented with a Royce Abbey Award, only the third such award in the club's history, while PP Carol Benson, PP Dr Mark Ellis AM, David Fallick, Geoffrey Widmer and Helen Worladge OAM, Director and Program Manager at the Education CHANCES Foundation, each received a Paul Harris Fellow Recognition. Congratulating outgoing President Teresa Liu on a year of significant achievement, incoming President Mark Howlett signalled a continuation of the growth of the club in the year ahead, in terms of membership numbers, community projects and member engagement and satisfaction. A re-energised club, ready to pick up the challenge to Create Hope in the World. To see all the photos from Changeover, click on 'Read more...' below.

In an address which defined the spirit of the evening, President Teresa drew attention to the continued success of the club in attracting new members. From 41 Active members in 2021, and 51 in 2022, the club currently numbers 52 Active members plus nine Honorary members at the end of the 2023 Rotary year, for a total of 61. President Teresa drew the attention of the commitment of club members to existing and newer projects, including RIMERN, the support for Ukraine refugees, Afghan refugee support and, closer to home, support for flood relief projects. All this while continuing an incredible commitment to the Boroondara Farmers Market, RORP, RYLA, MUNA, the Salvation Army Bread Run, Parkinsons Walk, Clean Up Australia and the Sumba Eye Program in Indonesia.

In addition to those club sponsored activities, President Teresa made special mention of some dedicated Rotarians committed to doing good in the world: Helena Wimpole and Geoff

Truly kicking above our weight.

Incoming President Mark Howlett thanked President Teresa for a year of outstanding personal commitment. In particular her care for individual members in need. President Teresa has raised the bar in leadership for the club, and substantially strengthened the Rotary Club of Glenferrie.
