In preparing for the night, I have prepared a list of the projects we have participated in, and I am in awe of how much this group of 50 or so people can achieve. Congratulations to you all; please relax tonight in whatever way you like and remind yourself what great selfless work you have done.

I have indeed enjoyed my year as president thanks in large part to the support I received; I will find time next Tuesday to thank you all! I confess I am looking forward to handing over the reins and being a part of Peter’s year. I have already seen the training and thoughts he has assembled and have no doubt we can look forward to a successful year ahead.

As part of the Rotary International Convention in Singapore we were invited to nominate to attend a meeting of a local Rotary Club. I nominated and received an invitation to attend the meeting of the Rotary Club of Singapore West. The diner was held in the Grand Ballroom at the Singapore Country Club.

It was a marvelous evening. There were about 300 people attending. It was an evening filled with local traditional entertainment with traditional dancers and musicians performing. The dinner was a buffet with every type of local cuisine you could think of.

The people from the Club were very welcoming and I had a wonderful evening meeting Rotarians from Other Clubs around the world – from St Lucia in the Caribbean to New Yorkers and Europeans. Everyone was very friendly, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

I would highly recommend Club Members to nominate for this activity at the next Convention.
